The Association of Centenary Tennis Clubs (CTC) is a group of clubs more than 100 years old, including some of the most prestigious clubs in the sport. Initially founded by eight clubs as a pan-European association, we now have an extensive and truly global membership and are recognised by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

How does it work ?

As a member of the CTC for many years, the Royal Leopold Club has the ability to organize a tennis tournament within the club. 
The objective is to allow the interested club centenarians, to gather to play matches. 
Usually this is done over a weekend or 3 days. During which the hosting club also organizes a city tour and one or two activities. 
As for the categories, we have to choose 3 or 4 max depending on the people interested. 
The period during which this tournament takes place is chosen by the committee of the tennis section. 

25th CTC Annual General Meeting

The Centenary Tennis Clubs Association (CTC) celebrated its 25th Annual General Meeting on Saturday November 13th, 2021.

Due to ongoing travel restrictions, the meeting was held online and attracted representatives from 14 of the Association’s member clubs from around the world.

CTC President Jordi Cambra opened the meeting by highlighting the importance of the Association and stressed the need to define a future strategy that maintains the traditional tennis activities of the CTC, the sharing of good practices among the member clubs and the promotion of the values of the sport at a social level. To this end, work will be done to obtain the necessary support for the development of the areas of marketing and communications, as well as the structural needs required for the constant growth of the Association.

Three new clubs were welcomed as members of the Association: Templeogue Tennis Club, Ireland, Tennis Club Venezia, Italy and Naas Lawn Tennis Club, Ireland. This brings the total number of clubs to 80 in 4 continents.

The Assembly heard that four clubs managed to meet back on court recently for the RC Polo Seniors Group and that a full calendar of activities is expected during 2022. Details also were given of the first CTC colloquium, which focused on the topic of Challenges for Sports Directors of Tennis Clubs.

The Association unfortunately bids farewell to sponsor E. Gutzwiller & Cie. Banquiers but looks forward to welcoming new brands that are committed to supporting the CTC.
